Rebecca Reports from Africa!
Today we visited the valley which is
known as one of the worst slum areas in Nairobi, Kenya. Compassion has a
project there and we were overwhelmed by the loving friendliness of the
sponsored children we met. We went for a walk around the area. There was
rubbish, sewage, and stench at every turn. Though the poverty was the most
severe that I’ve seen, the warmth and kindness of the Kenyan people was
beautiful. In any situation, anywhere, with God… there is always beauty to
be found. We will try to send photos later, as I was not able to take photos
today due to security problems. It is 10:30p here and we are headed to bed.
